Privacy & Cookie Policy
How we handle personal data collected through this website and its beta access form.
1. Data controller
The data controller is DB Innovation S.r.l., registered office at Viale IV Novembre, 8, 51016 Montecatini Terme (PT), Italy — VAT IT02117080479. For any privacy-related request, write to contact@royalpie.it. We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer, as we are not required to.
2. Data we collect
- Beta access form: the name and email address you type into the “Request access” form, together with the date and time of the request, the page you sent it from, and the fact that you ticked the consent box.
- Emails you send us: if you write to contact@royalpie.it, we process your address and whatever you choose to put in your message.
- Technical connection data: our hosting provider processes the usual server-log data (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser type) to deliver the pages and protect the site from attacks and abuse.
We do not collect anything else. There are no accounts on this website, no profiling, no automated decision-making, no advertising or analytics trackers, and no data about minors is knowingly collected.
3. Why we process them (legal bases)
- Your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) — for the beta access form: to add you to the waiting list, to contact you when the beta opens, and to send you news and marketing communications about Royalpie. You give this consent by ticking the box on the form and you can withdraw it at any time.
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to keep the website available and secure, and to reply to messages you send us.
- Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR) — to keep evidence that consent was given, as required by the accountability principle.
4. How long we keep them
- Beta access requests: until you ask us to delete them or withdraw your consent, and in any case no longer than 24 months after the beta opens to the public.
- Proof of consent: kept for the same period as the request itself, then deleted with it.
- Emails: kept as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Server logs: retained by the hosting provider for a short technical period, in line with its own retention policy.
5. Who we share them with
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. It is accessible only to people working for the controller and to the following processors, appointed under Art. 28 GDPR: Cloudflare (hosting of this website and storage of the beta requests) and Outline, the internal wiki where the list of requests is mirrored for the team. Both process the data on our instructions only. Where a processor operates outside the EU, transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.
6. Cookies and local storage
Short version: this website sets no cookies at all. It stores two small technical preferences in your browser and loads nothing from third-party servers — no analytics, no advertising, no social or tracking pixels.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your device to remember something about you or your visit. Similar technologies — such as “local storage” — store data in your browser in the same way, and the same rules apply to them.
Cookies used by this website
None. royalpie.it does not set profiling, analytics or advertising cookies, and does not host third-party tags that could set them.
Local storage we do use
Two technical entries are saved in your browser's local storage. They contain no identifier, they are never sent to our servers or to anyone else, and they stay on your device until you clear your browser data.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration | How to remove it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
royalpie_lang |
Functional | Remembers whether you chose Italian or English, so the site opens in your language next time. | Until you clear your browser data | Clear your browser's site data for royalpie.it |
royalpie_notice |
Functional | Records that you closed the cookie banner, so it is not shown again on every page. | Until you clear your browser data | Clear your browser's site data for royalpie.it |
Under the ePrivacy Directive and the Italian Garante's cookie guidelines, storage that is strictly necessary or that only records a preference you actively expressed does not require consent — but it does have to be disclosed, which is what this section does. If you block or clear it, the site keeps working: it will simply open in your browser's language and show the banner again.
Third-party cookies
None. Fonts and icons are served from this website itself, not from Google Fonts or any other content delivery network, so no request about your visit reaches a third party. There are no social buttons that load remote code: the links to our social profiles in the footer are plain links, which only send you to those sites if you click them — and once you are there, their own policies apply.
How to control cookies in your browser
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies and local storage: in Chrome, Edge and Firefox under Settings → Privacy and security; in Safari under Preferences/Settings → Privacy. On Android and iOS the same controls are in the browser's settings. Since this site sets no cookies, blocking them changes nothing here.
Do Not Track
This website does not track you across sites, so a “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signal has nothing to switch off. We honour it by design rather than by responding to it.
If we ever introduce analytics or any other non-essential technology, this section will be updated first and a consent banner with a genuine choice will be shown before anything is loaded.
7. Your rights
- Access to your data
- Rectification of inaccurate data
- Erasure (“right to be forgotten”)
- Data portability
- Restriction of, or objection to, processing
- Withdrawal of consent at any time, without affecting processing carried out before the withdrawal
To exercise any of these rights — including removing yourself from the beta waiting list — write to contact@royalpie.it. We reply within one month, as required by the GDPR. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian supervisory authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, www.garanteprivacy.it) or with the authority of your country of residence.
8. Is providing your data mandatory?
No. Browsing this website requires nothing from you. Filling in the beta access form is entirely optional: without a name, an email address and the consent tick we cannot register the request, but nothing else on the site is affected.
9. Updates
This notice may be updated; the current version is always the one published on this page, with the date shown below. Material changes affecting people on the waiting list will be notified by email.
